Day 01

Arrival in PARO
Arrival transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Paro.
 

Day 02

PARO - THIMPU
Morning sightseeing tour of Paro and drive via Drugyel Dzong to Thimpu. PM tour of Thimpu with cultural program in the evening (for groups only). Overnight at Thimpu.
 

Day 03

THIMPU –PUNAKHA
Visit Thimpu and drive for about 2 hours via
Docula Pass (10,496 ft.) to Punakha. Visit Punakha Dzong. Overnight at Punakha.
 

Day 04

PUNAKHA – TONGSA
Journey to Tongsa is about 4 hours drive. Also stop for a visit to Chendebje Chorten. Visit Tongsa Dzong. Overnight at Tongsa.
 

Day 05

TONGSA – BUMTHANG
Drive to Bumthang which takes about two and half hours drive. Enroute pass through the Yutongla pass at about 11,155 feet. From the view point, you can see Jakar Dzong, also known as the “Castle of the White Bird”. Afternoon hike up to Lama Gompa, built by the First King for his two monk sisters. It is one of the finest examples of palatial architectures in
Bhutan. Overnight at Lodge.
 

Day 06

BUMTHANG
Visit Kurje Lhakhang in the morning, one of the most sacred places in
Bhutan as it is believed that Guru Rimpoche meditated here and left the imprint of his body on a rock. On the way back, visit Jampa Lhakhang, the oldest monastery in Bhutan built by Tibetan King Songsten Gompo in the 7 th century. In the afternoon, explore around Bumthang. Visit the dairy farm, Swiss cheese factory. Overnight at Bumthang.
 

Day 07

BUMTHANG – THIMPHU
The journey back to Thimpu takes about 7 hours drive. Lunch stop at Wangdi Guest House. After lunch drive on to Thimpu passing through Docula Pass at about 10,000 feet. Overnight at Thimpu.
 

Day 08

THIMPU – PARO
Drive north up the valley towards Dechenchoeling (the Queen Mother's residence) to get a wonderful down valley view of Thimpu and Tashichho Dzong and stop for last minute shopping in Thimpu before driving on to Paro. Overnight at Paro.
 

Day 09

Departure from Paro.
Drive to Paro airport to connect with the onward flight.
